SELL YOUR BOAT VIA A PROFESSIONAL YACHT BROKER

The decision to sell your yacht can be a difficult and emotional one to make, so selecting the best professional yacht broker to represent you is very important. At Robert Mulcahy Yachts LLP we pride ourselves on a broad range of experience and both an in-depth technical and market knowledge. Customer service is of primary importance, so you can be sure that we have your best interest at heart from the minute you contact us.

The business of Robert Mulcahy yachts LLP is exclusively selling pre-owned quality yachts, without risk of conflict with a parent company selling new yachts. All potential buyers are retained and focused exclusively on the range of pre-owned yachts (including yours) we have to offer.

Following inspection by one of our experienced brokers, a fully detailed colour brochure will be produced for your yacht in both PDF and full colour printed formats. Each listing will have a direct link from our website to full specifications and colour photographs to give maximum exposure to buyers.

We, at Robert Mulcahy Yachts, will advise on the best price to market your yacht to attract potential buyers. We pride ourselves in keeping abreast of market trends around the world so have the latest detailed information to hand.

Most yachts are quickly linked and directed to existing customers through our computer database. We pride ourselves on offering a personal service, so our team will contact all potential buyers as soon as your yacht is listed with us. Your yacht will also be advertised in traditional yachting magazines such as Yachting World, however the most successful and valuable marketing tool is the Internet so we will promote your yacht through our own dedicated website www.robertmulcahyyachts.com plus a carefully selected range of global yacht sales search sites.

At Robert Mulcahy Yachts LLP we understand that, as with everything, first impressions count – so your yacht must look its best for prospective buyers. We will advise of effective methods to make your yacht look her best and liaise with you and local craftsmen to make the most of that vital first impression. Our full colour brochures will show your yacht at her best.
It is crucial to any yacht sale transaction that the registration, documentation and taxes are dealt with correctly. At Robert Mulcahy Yachts LLP we have an almost unrivalled experience of these subjects in different countries around the world to help avoid possible costly pitfalls. VAT on yachts is a very complicated topic within the different EU territories – a multitude of different lease and tax reduction schemes exist (sometimes involving offshore registration) and we have the knowledge, experience and contacts to help make sure that all the necessary documentation is in order to satisfy Customs legislation and any new owner.

Occasionally yachts do not comply with the European Recreational Craft Directive (RCD), which means that they cannot be legally offered for sale in Europe – again we can advise on this legislation.

Central Listing – also sometimes referred to as a “sole” or “exclusive” listing. One broker is appointed to act as a central point of contact for the sale of your yacht who then works with other brokers around the world. The advantages are that you have just one agent to communicate with and keep updated with changes and news.

Open Listing – no exclusivity, and can be given to multiple yacht brokers to widen the net to sell your yacht. It can be difficult to manage the various brokers and keep them all informed of changes to specification etc.

The pre purchase survey is the responsibility of the buyer. However it is always a good idea to advise us of any known defects before the survey to avoid any surprises that may jeopardize the sale. The survey can also include a valuation to give you total satisfaction that you are selling at the correct market price.
